Great news for HD Video DSLR camera shooters like us here at Skyline Videography. A recent video series produced by Zacuto, compares the breakthrough technology offered in DSLR cameras like the Canon 5d Mk II with the best standard we all have come to love – 35mm film. I’m not talking about super 8mm or 16mm, but the glorious film we’re used to watching at the movies. A scene was created for DSLRs to capture and compare them to the same footage from Kodak and Fuji Film industry cameras. Then the footage was viewed on the big screen by a number of well know people in the industry who gave their opinions, including Rick McCallum (Star Wars Producer), Shane Hurlbut ASC, Kevin Shaninian, Stephen Goldblatt ASC and many more. The outcome? Let’s just say these industry professionals were all blown away with how far technology has come. We incorporate these cameras in our HD wedding packages along with 35mm lenses, the same lenses used by professional photographers. The result? Beautiful, film-like image quality.
